Devildriver Reveal New Guitarist To Complete Lineup

Though things may all be about Coal Chamber‘s return in the Dez Fafara camp, there have been inner workings of the band. After playing their final show together at Slipknot‘s Knotfest the band announced that long time guitarist Jeff Kendrick and drummer John Boecklin would be leaving the band. The boys in Devildriver didn’t seem dubious about the members’ decision to leave the band.

After a few months of trial, figuring out who might tick well with the band, working as a group dynamic, the band announced that the new drummer would be Austin D’Amond of former Chimaira fame. Personally I think this is a great pairing, with Devildriver being one of the metalcore acts that will not suffer the same fate to Chimaira and Shadows Fall. Now today we unearth (no pun intended) a new fact about the band’s lead guitarist. Posted yesterday on Fafara‘s Instagram account we can now reveal that the new guitarist is Neal Tiemann. Though the guitarist has previously been more of a session musician the man has been the lead guitarist in Midwest Kings. It will be interesting to see how the fairly decisive Devildriver community will react to the new guitarist.

Not only has the identity of the new guitarist been revealed but Fafara announced that :

“Together with Michael Spreitzer they have about 11 songs and are writing on a constant together”

So now we have even more good news, perhaps there might be a new Devildriver before the year is out, depending on Fafara‘s touring schedule we might have to wait a little longer, but that won’t stop the band really getting to know one another to make this next record a new chapter for Devildriver. Looks like good things are set to come our way!
