Although the line up for Coachella is not metal in the slightest. It never has been and really never will be, with the closest thing to anything remotely heavy being the likes of indie superstars Kasabian, however this year, one particular band at least has made it through.

AC/DC! Announced as the headlining act of one of the day’s the rock ‘n’ roll icons continue on their path to (older) world domination. After selling out Wembley Stadium in just one hour they’re sure to push some ticket sales for Coachella. Really it is a breath of fresh air to see a band so tendered to dad rock headlining and not some pretentious hipster band who are “single handedly” reinventing music by recording the sounds of a farm yard mid way through making their own juices out of  Ellie Goulding‘s tears. I hope this statement isn’t true, however I fear for the worst…

Bar AC/DC it’s pretty much your run of the mill hipster special as ever, but at least we’ve got the biggest band playing the festival! A victory for metal I do believe!
