Chris Letchford of Scale the Summit fame has finished putting together his new solo effort entitled “Lightbox” and shall be released on the 15th of july and has released another new track entitled “Rayless”. Although not as heavy as his main outfit Scale the Summit, there are many aspects which are very much similar. Much of STS’s mastery comes from the balance between the heavy and melodic pieces. Here Letchford is exercising his talents in a more jazz fuelled environment. Its always good when musicians are able to be free with their ideas and try out new outfits,given how talented Scale the Summit are “Lightbox” surely shall be one to listen out for.

Avenged Sevenfold are one of the biggest bands going, having just headlined Download, which is for many classic metal acts, a big deal, their latest album has been absolutely huge. Reaching Number 1 in the charts, Hail to the King although commercially successful has divided some fans. Some have even said that much of it just sounds like a rip off of classic acts,whatever your opinion there is nothing that will be stopping them anytime soon. They have just debuted the new video for the Metallica inspired song, “This Means War”  filmed over their fortnight trek in South America adding in pieces from live shows and other war inspired vignettes, its a standard big name metal video.
