The Contortionist Premiere New Song
The Contortionist have released a new song entitled “Language“, a small band but, from small acorns grow big oaks. After being on tour with Between The Buried And Me and playing some great shows last year The Contortionist have become a hot topic indeed. Their new material continues on with the slight ambient feel that Intrinsic had especially with the song “Holomovement”, with on the surface simple lines once studied further its revealed to have more intricate well placed instrumentation, but most importantly no one else sounds like them, with a plethora of bands jumping, still, on the djent bandwagon The Contortionist have been happy to just do what they do best. By now incorporating vocalist Michael Lessard after the departure of Jonathan Carpenter it seems that The Contortionist have very much found their voice, with apparently not much of the death metal elements left in their new output and it mostly being clean singing. I would see that as more of an evolution than a step back, a mature move to say they’re not just some random band, The Contortionist are definitely going to be recognized and rightly so!

Slipknot Release Small Teaser For New Album!
The maggots should all get ready as Slipknot’s website Slipknot1 as well as their Facebook have been showing a small trailer, with odd noises and some weird imagery, which wouldn’t look too out of place in Iowa era Slipknot slowly showing that Slipknot are ready to release their far too long awaited album via Roadrunner at the end of the year. Keeping their cards very close to their chest but drip feeding their audience to make everyone excited. It will be interesting to see where Slipknot are to go with this new album, after having the death of the bassist Paul Gray in 2010 as well as the departure of Joey Jordison, will it see a difference in their sound, perhaps even in their image? Both members that are no longer in the band had very big roles in the songwriting of the previous Slipknot metalheads have come to know and love.
