Nick Hipa and co, must be getting fairly excited, with the release for Wovenwar‘s debut album in just under a week we’ve been treated to a new jam. “Profane” is very much in the same vein that we’ve heard for most of the new releases, the riffing is just as tight as it ever was with the boys essentially forming a more mature sound from their already established roots. As unfortunate as all the events that transpired have been, perhaps its a welcome change that the former members needed. With new life from the Oh Sleeper singer Shane Blay, it seems that both bands have amalgamated to form Wovenwar and lots of people are interested. Being able to shed the scene image that seemed to follow them all over with each release Wovenwar are both these bands but not as you would know them.

Fancy Hearing A Cannibal Corpse Song On A Ukelele
In the ever growing trend of playing death metal tunes on the weirdest instruments, so far we have had Necrophagist being played on the clarinet, Lamb Of God being played on what I could only describe as kitchen appliances and now we’ve got the undisputed fathers of all things brutal, on a ukelele. Rob Scallon has taken it upon himself to re transcribe Cannibal Corpse‘s delightfully titled “Frantic Disembowelment” and its brilliant. Hearing something that is originally so heavy played on some small nylon strings. It sounds as though Hawaii has entered the seven circles of hell!
