Carcass Banned From Asia Over “Lyrical Content”

With more and more bands suffering under the Asia’s various different ideologies from the ludicrous show stopping during Cannibal Corpse‘s latest run of dates in Russia. Supporting their new album A Skeletal Domain the band had the plug pulled, had to cancel minutes before going on stage and even had Russian officers come in to shut the gig down. Now yet another band to not be allowed to perform for reasons that are beyond stupid is Carcass.

After the Brits were denied the performance in Malaysia the fairly disgruntled band took to the internet to vent, which we all know is a great idea… Stating :

Sorry Malaysia, no show for you guys in May. Seems like your government officials still haven’t updated their calendars…

It really is laughable, in this day and age where we live in modern, accepting societies, what exactly is the lyrical content of a Carcass album going to pertain. All that government officials are doing now is denying fans the opportunity to see their favourite artists perform, which in turn will create more resentment on their part. It seems so trivial, but death metal, with an accolade of brutality and of vicious lyrics has this effect. Personally, I am one hundred percent with Carcass with this one. There’s no reason that you would be denying any pop stars visa’s when their image can be suitably more damaging to a younger much more influential audience than a couple of classic death metal rockers. Given the fact that people will probably have the nouse to know not to take the lyrics literally. Though it seems the government don’t.
