It’s sad to hear that even in this day and age people use festivals as a con to extort money out of fans in exchange for a false promise of their favourite bands. The latest case, Brutal Fest 2014.

The festival was due to take place in Hasselt, Belgium and showcase the likes of Aborted, Leng Tche and Dawn of Demise, but many statements have just been released over the failure of the promoters to comply with the band’s performance contracts. Basically the bands and fans have been victims of fraud, and the promoters have taken the money and ran. Read the statements by a few bands below:

Dawn of Demise: “Brutal Fest has been cancelled. The promoter is a lying bastard cuntfuck idiot loser who has stolen peoples money and so on. Aborted and Aeon have also cancelled, and if you look at their updates you can see that they also are pretty pissed…”

Aborted: “Due to the unprofessional and fraudulent acts of the promoter of brutal fest. Aborted officially cancel our appearance at this event. We hope the promoter gets what he deserves and everyone who bought tickets get their money back. See you all in Aarschot with Exhumed and Origin this November instead!”

Aeon: “Due to an unprofessional and fraudulent act of the promotor AeoN is canceling the show at Brutal Fest in Hasselt. We really hope that everyone who has bought a ticket will get the money back. See you all on the Cannibal Corpse tour.”

No official statement has been released, nor any sort of life on their Facebook page since April. We hope the promoters are swiftly brought to justice over this, simply unacceptable.
