Sad news this week as we have found out that founding member and previous Broken Hope drummer Ryan Stanek has passed away. The co founder of the Chicago based death metal group, died on March 1st at the age of 42. Following his band mates death, Broken Hope guitarist Jeremy Wagner issued a statement through Facebook about the passing. Founding the band back in 1988, the drummer was on the next four albums and remained with the band until 1997, after this the band then broke up. Deciding to give things another go the band was started up once again but now by sole remaining original memeber Jeremy Wagner.
A true shame to have lost yet another member of our metal family, our thoughts are with Stanek‘s family and friends, we wish you all the best and our sincere condolences from everyone here at The Metalist.
