Definitely one of the most anticipated releases of the year the news that Between The Buried and Me were once again in the studio was greeted with open arms by fans. After much speculation, it seems that we were indeed right, the brand new album entitled Coma Ecliptic will be set for a July 7th release via Metal Blade Records.
Previously stating that this record would be a rock opera, this is definitely the most ambitious concept album BTBAM have ever put out. With the details behind the story, being an innovative and engaging one.
“The story follows the wanderings of an unidentitfied man, stuck in a coma, as he journey’s through his past lives. Each song is it’s own episode, in a modern day Twilight Zone-esque fashion. The unidentitfied man enters each world and is offered a choice, stay, or to move on to the next in search of something better, something more perfect”
The story pulls all of prog’s heart strings a modern take on the quest to find oneself. Opting to leave their Parallax world, which I personally thought was slightly thin, the band seem to be ready to mature into the fully fledged progressive masterminds they are. With a more refined album cover, giving the listener the perfect blurb to the albums story this is definitely going to be on our end of year lists…
The band’s latest album is scheduled for a July 7th release via Metal Blade Records, were told that we will be hearing the band’s first single on April 3rd. Mark your calendars!
