Whilst the release of Belphegor‘s new album draws ever nearer we’re treated to a new music video from the black metal masters. Although “Conjuring The Dead” is as cheesy as you can get, whilst Behemoth pulls of videos with panache and style Belphegor are much more B-movie Horror, having a random girl with blood all over her face move around in odd ways and vomiting nails, whilst Helmuth and his cronies lurk around in dry ice fog looking evil. I personally like it, as long as you don’t take it seriously. But if you listen to the song itself, this is some of the best material Belphegor have put out to date collaborating with death metal legend Erik Rutan (who has been in both Hate Eternal and Morbid Angel, just in case you didn’t know) its definitely spicing things up a bit. Riffs that would give the aforementioned Behemoth a run for their money sit perfectly with the crystal clear sounding drums. But don’t just take my word for it jam the song below.
Also worth a mention is the incredibly busy artwork designed by Greek artistĀ Anthon Siro Seth, who was worked with Belphegor previously as well as Septic Flesh and Nile to mention a few, Conjuring the Dead will be released August 5th via Nuclear Blast RecordsĀ and you can pre order the album here.
