Though don’t hold your breath as it isn’t coming this year.
Currently working on their follow up to 2014’s Conjuring The Dead, Belphegor are working hard to create new material for their as yet untitled new album. Scheduled for a tentative April 2017 release the album will be the band’s first effort since 2014.
“We’ve just finished the fourth rehearsal session. The process consisted of 13 exhausting, creative days in a row. Nine compositions took form and already sound massive.
The singer continues “It’s important to me that we get better, tighter, raise the dynamics, and have each musician develop his skills with his instruments to bring our sound to the next level. We’ve always done our own thing and continue to do so.”
In speaking with regards to the album’s sound the singer mentions that the band have tuned their guitars to both H5 and #A6 and that it will add a new dimension to the band’s sound previously unexplored.
“It’s the first time we’ve tuned our guitars to H5 and #A6, which is really low, and will add a new touch to our sound. Release date will be in April 2017! We’re forever on fire and ready for new challenges. Progress is experimentation and improvement. An honour – this horror.”
Despite the recent hiccups encountered whilst on the road in Russia Belphegor look to be firing on all cylinders by April next year. Watch this space!
