Whilst Finnish cello metallers Apocalyptica slug away on their new album, they have announced that they have signed with a new label downsizing their previous involvement with Universal Music.

The band have announced they have signed with Eleven Seven Music to distribute their as of yet untitled album, a significant step down from the high ranks of Universal. The band explained the decision by commenting on the new deal:

“A lot of bands we really like or we are friends with are signed with Eleven Seven.

“After our previous record deals with major record companies, we were aiming for a label home where we know the people and can rely on working with them for at least the period of an album cycle. Having Allen with us gives us this confidence, paired with a great team full of passion and ideas for what we do. We are excited being part of this!”

It is very true that smaller labels provide bands with more artistic freedom, and it seems a new fresh and liberal start is what Apocalyptica need to put out an excellent new record. We look forward to hearing what the new beginnings will bring to these unique metallers.
