All That Remains Release New Song

As we’ve seen throughout much of this year metal core is in a pretty drastic decline. With Chimaira calling it quits along with Shadows Fall calling an indefinite hiatus one band however who are still going is All That Remains. After releasing the very average A War You Cannot Win previously the band are now teasing their new album which will be released next year. To whet metalheads’ appetite the band have released a new song with the profound title, as ever of “No Knock“.

Now I have been a fan of All That Remains since one of the incredibly underrated metalcore albums The Fall Of Ideals, but if this is any sign of things to come then metalcore is in trouble. “No Knock” is at the crux just boring. Its a slow song that isn’t memorable and what saddens me the most is where normally our superhero that always saves the day Oli Herbert rescues All That Remains with a tasteful solo, not even that is there… Continuing with their legacy of awful production that lacks any form of impact, not to mention that part of the lyrics are “I’m fucking Superman, so come on over and check my plan“. I hope that I am proved wrong with some of the other releases off the album, but my gut tells me that we might be in for a stale album by a band that really should just give up the ghost. With a plethora of smarter, streamlined and innovative bands popping up every year and improving from those previous All That Remains will definitely fall by the wayside.

This is only the first song to come off the album, but if much of the material is similar then I’m not sure how much of the previous forward thinking band actually remains, either way listen to the song below and see what you think.
