Our favourite progressive metallers Alkaloid are made up of various members of Obscura,Spawn Of Possession, Dark Fortress and Aborted. An all star line up full of creative musicians that constantly push the boundaries of metal.
As their genre is potentially the most niche out there, they have begun a crowdfunding campaign, which they have already surpassed. Giving us a taster of some of the material to expect from the debut album The Malkuth Grimoire. First we were given a rough preview of track along with a specific track “Carbon Phrases” and now we’re treated to another new song from the bands arsenal, “Cthulhu“.
A lot slower than its predecessor, the songs limps through the five minutes, showcasing what each of the members are renown for. Intriguing, often jazz influenced drumming, inspired use of the guitar create an overall ghoulish bone throughout the new song.
As of yet the band have almost finished their crowdfunding effort. With the final day for any contributions being 31st of January. After obtaining all the contributions it is supposed that the band will be entering the studio to record their new album The Malkuth Grimoire, definitely one of the hottest releases of the year.
