Shortly before the year was out in 2014 we were delivered some horrific news. After previously losing GWAR man Dave Brockie the front man of Nu Metal band Static-X had been pronounced dead. On November 1st the singer died, rumours spilled out that it was a drug related death, however Wayne Static‘s wife Tera Wray denied all these rumours. It has now come out what the real cause of the signers death was.

Due to the singer having panic attacks he was prescribed Oxycodone and Xanax along with alcohol. Is particular night the singer had been drinking, an unknown amount. When the couple went to bed he crushed half a tablet of 30 mg Oxycotone and took it. After sleeping through until 15:30 his wife awsome to find her husband had died. We can finally confirm that it was from a combination of both the alcohol the singer had consumed and the prescription drugs he had taken. Giving the manner of the death the connotation of “natural”. No foul play was detected, it was simply a terrible accident. However this doesn’t make it any less tragic that the metal community has list yet another singer.

“On November 1, at approximately 0700 hours, Wayne Static and his wife went to bed. His wife stated that just prior to going to bed, he crushed one-half of a 30 mg oxycodone pill and consumed it. The oxycodone had been prescribed to his wife. He also drank an unknown amount of alcohol. His wife awoke at around 1530 hours. She found the decedent dead in the bed and called 911 at 1547 hours. Paramedics arrived and confirmed death at 1600 hours, noting rigor mortis and lividity. There was no evidence of foul play or any indication a struggle had taken place.”
