Earlier today Muse announced their return with the release of details surrounding their brand new album Drones. Revealing track listing, artwork and even a mini tour. The best was saved for last although official single “Dead Inside” will be released a couple of weeks from now Muse debut another song from the album the sweaty “Psycho”

In the previous article I was hoping that the band would in fact ditch their space age dance trimmings and perhaps return to an Origin Of Symmetry approach. With “Psycho” the band straddle the line between Origin and Black Holes. Staying firmly rooted in the bluesy groove the jam is bouncy up tempo and well a rocker!

Not given to the symphonic vocabulary of Absolution but the brash ballziness of “Knights Of Cydonia” springs to mind. Listen to the single below and see for yourself. It does sound as though Muse have stripped back and gone for a more old school sound. Which is fine by me.

On a side note, it’s the perfect soundtrack for an Guy Ritchie movie. Has Lock Stock or Snatch all over it.
