Coal Chamber Announce Album Title And Release Date

Before Devildriver decided to be put on hold, Dez Fafara began to regroup Coal Chamber. Announcing that the band had indeed been in the studio we now get to tell you that the album is finished and is scheduled for a May 19th release date via Napalm Records.

Entitled Rivals it will be the first album since the band’s final record Dark Days in 2002 now thirteen years later the band are back. With producing duties being handed over to Mark Lewis, whp produced last years brilliant sounding new Cannibal Corpse effort A Skeletal Domain. Recorded in part at the legendary Audiohammer Studios Fafara commented :

“This record was over 13 years in the making, and I promise this record won’t disappoint and will be worth the wait! Rivals is solid through and through, there’s maturity and growth in the music while still maintaining the true Coal Chamber sound and delivering track after track of killer tunes! We had a great time working together on this record and I hope you all enjoy it as much as we do!”

The albums artwork continues the tradition of being pretty bad, perhaps there might be some evolution in the band’s sound after thirteen years, you would hope so. Although I’m sure there will be classics like “Big Truck” satisfying any old fans seeking some nostalgia.
