Earlier on this week I purchased a copy of the heralded PROG an English magazine and a staple of modern prog literature. Upon purchasing said magazine, I had discovered that Enslaved were featured on the month’s demo disc for their song “Thurisaz Dreaming” and thought to myself I bet Nuclear Blast release the new song this week sometime…
Lo and behold, I seemed to be right in my assumption. Nuclear Blast decided to unleash this progressive black metal beast right before the week was out. Beginning as a pure black metal, over time the band have adopted vocabulary synonymous with the progressive genre. “Thurisaz Dreaming” isn’t a departure back to the bands old roots if that was what you were hoping for but instead a confident leap into the new era of Enslaved. Mysteriously fading out before the song ends the video has been edited . The album track will be eight minutes long, the lyric video is only five. A fitting element of mystery behind the new single…
Listen to the track and below and see what you think of the brand new song.
