Guitarist Alex Guth has parted ways German power metal outfit Stormwarrior. It was announced via the bands official Facebook as can be seen below:
“After 9 years wielding the axe for STORMWARRIOR Alex decided to leave the band…
We wish Alex all the best and great success with his new plans. THX for the great time. We will miss you!
For the upcoming shows we will have some helping hands from our great friends Björn Daigger (Gloomball; ex-Majesty) und Christian Muenzner (Obscura; ex-Majesty). So no shows need to be cancelled. See you all as planned this thursday @ Bang Your Head Festival !!!
We will be searching for a permanent replacement on guitar from now on. So feel free to contact us on this via contact@stormwarrior.de (location in northern Germany preferred).”
Alex himself commented:
“Hey you all,
It is with a heavy (metal) heart that I have to inform you that I am stepping down from my position as a guitar player for STORMWARRIOR. I will not go into too much detail on the reasons why. However, I want to be very clear to you that my decision has nothing to do with the band, the music or the fans. It is just I and a sparking necessity of rearranging a few things in my life. I urgently need to take more care of my loved ones back home, who are the dearest to me. Also, I am given the chance of pursuing a new career outside of music. All of this will demand a lot of my attention in the future.
Despite of these new paths which are opening up before me, I assure you:
I will not stop playing the guitar.
I will not stop doing music.
I will not stop living and breathing metal 24 hours a day.
I will always consider Lars, Yenz and Joerg being some of my closest friends and forever brothers in metal.
In the last nine years while playing in STORMWARRIOR, I met a ton of great and exciting people around the globe. I had the chance of sharing stages with some of my musical heroes. I had the pleasure of meeting so many great fans who enjoy our music. I cannot thank you all enough. It is still blowing my mind! Also, I have to cheer Lars, Yenz and Joerg for taking me with them on this amazing ride. I will never forget! We all will meet again, it is “never say never”!
Stay metal!
Alex”
