After having been in the band for ten years now Megadeth drummer and now fairly long time member Shawn Drover has decided to call it quits.

He stated from an official press release :

“After 10 years, I have decided to quit Megadeth pursue my own musical interests.

“I want to thank Dave Mustaine and the entire Megadeth family, as well as thanking all the amazing Megadeth fans around the world!!! I truly appreciate all of you.

“Stay tuned for info on my next musical journey”

Having begun his Megadeth career alongside brother Chris Drover the pair both joined Megadeth for their United Abominations album. Coasting through with Endgame Megadeth, wrote a great album although brother and guitarist left shortly before follow up Endgame Shawn had been a long time drummer in Megadeth. No easy feat with a seemingly ever changing line up. Could it be down to the release of the very much below average release of last year’s Super Collided that Shawn Drover decided to leave the band to pursue other things?
