Three’s a charm with Bloodbath it seems. After having wowed metal heads all over with the announcement of new vocalist Nick Holmes and not only one but two new songs, it’s definitely a hat trick with “Grand Morbid Funeral“.
The track snakes it’s way beautifully through dark and ominous soundscapes. Beginning with a haunting lead line we’re then introduced to the songs slow burning chorus, particularly with this song, Bloodbath have shown that there is definitely progression happening. The first two tracks were good, crusty death metal. With the buzz-saw guitar sound synonymous with the band but “Grand Morbid Funeral” drunkenly makes its way through the crowd standing out, with both grandeur and style ending on the haunting choir.
Instead of putting out the same sounding album the band retain their original sound but have crafted a ghoulish sound giving the track a dirty film among a mournful veil.
Definitely not one to miss,Grand Morbid Funeral will be released on November 17th via Peaceville.
