Heavy metallers Manowar have been forced to cancel their appearance at Japan’s Loud Park Festival next weekend due to equipment troubles.
The Port of Los Angeles recently caught fire, delaying the shipping of Manowar’s performance equipment which the band stated was an essential part of their show. The band rescheduled their cancelled festival appearance by arranging two dates in Tokyo playing at Zepp Diver City October 29th and 30th.
Apologising to Japanese fans, guitarist Joey DeMaio made a brief statement explaining the situation:
“Manowar’s equipment is custom made and an irreplaceable part of our live performance. From the guitars, to our speaker cabinets and everything else in between. It would have been unfair to our Japanese fans to consider a solution that would have been less than 100% Manowar.”
“The problems caused by the fire at the Port of Los Angeles created such severe disruption that even the backup vessel couldn’t make it on time for the festival.”
“We, along with the promoters, worked around the clock to find a solution and we are happy that we found one which allows us to give the Japanese Manowarriors the full ass-kicking power of a real Manowar show,”.
Shame for Japanese fans that such a big part of their Loud Park Festival has been withdrawn, but hopefully Manowar will make it up in the headline shows.
