The Wintersun saga continues as mainman Jari Maenpaa posts yet another Facebook message about the ongoing clash between the band and label Nuclear Blast. However this time there is some more positive news.
It appears that Wintersun and the label have reached some sort of agreement in terms of getting the album ‘Time II‘ crowdfunded and putting out the record exactly how Maenpaa wants it. Why Wintersun deserve special treatment is still a bit of a mystery to us, but alas, read the post below to gauge what is going on in terms of the development of ‘Time II‘:
“Wintersun Studio & Time II crowd funding survey (Please read first before liking!): Good news guys! We have reached an agreement with Nuclear Blast. We gotta give them big props for coming through for us! But first, we need to do a little survey to estimate if we could actually reach our crowd funding goal (which is pretty damn high) before we rush into it.

There has been quite positive response to this already, the main issue though being the lack of a physical CD should this go ahead which has upset quite a few fans. Our take is that Maenpaa seems to be trying to take up a revolutionary road in terms of music production and shake the system of the label and musicans. We wouldn’t say he is succeeding, but this is certainly different and given the more conservative nature of metalheads this may not be the best way forward for album recording…but we shall see!
