Sadly Astarte’s frontwoman and main songwriter Tristessa (aka Maria Kolokouri) passed away earlier this year from complications with leukaemia, and it was assumed that the album Astarte began composing for years ago was an incomplete project. However, the album known as ‘Blackdemonium‘ will be receiving a release.

It was announced today that the album was in the final mixing stages, and is more than likely it had a few contributors to complete it. No statement or comment from the record label or remaining band members was made to announce or dedicate the release to Tristessa, leaving us to honour her memory in our own way through the music. Whatever the outcome, this will surely be an album to remember.

No official release date has been given yet but it will likely see light early 2015.
