We all know Lemmy hasn’t been well recently, and his illness peaked at last years Motorhead’s Wacken Open Air (2013) performance where he was forced to leave the stage after 4 songs because of it. Though now he is getting better, and an update about his health has been posted.
VH1 recently conducted an interview with the metal legend and asked about the state of his health:
“I’m getting back there, we’ve just done two tours. It doesn’t really matter what you do, it’s how you do it and how you feel. I gave up smoking more or less. I have one now and again but that’s about it. And I more or less gave up drinking or I switched to vodka instead of Jack Daniels, which is better for you apparently. If you’re going to drink, that’s the least harmful.”
It’s good news to hear that Lemmy is getting back on track and inevitably preparing for the upcoming Motorboat cruise that the band will be headlining. The man with the ultimate ‘rock and roll’ lifestyle didn’t expect to be here at 30, and while he has pretty much had to give up that lifestyle we can be assued that he will be around for a few more years to come.
