From their new live album and DVD that will be released in a couple of weeks, Meshuggah have let us all have a look at what we can come to expect from the Swedish bunch. With “Do Not Look Down” its live footage of them playing at a festival that I can deem to be Wacken 2013. Celebrating their 25th anniversary as a band not only are they releasing The Ophidian Trek their new live out put made up of 2 CD’s and 2 DVD’s which will also be on BluRay format , they will also be re-issuing their phenomenal ep “I“.
A remastered version of the orignal 21 minute track as well as “Pitch Black” a single that went largely under the radar and bonus live tracks “Bleed” and “Dancers To A Discordant System“. The Ophidian Trek looks to set the benchmark pretty high for bands, how they edit and put together their live DVD’s as well as their lighting rig, but we all know that Meshuggah never do anything by halves…
Make sure that you catch them on their European leg of their 25th Anniversary tour this winter, where they play London’s Roundhouse on the 20th of December. Both The Ophidian Trek and I will be released September 29th via Nuclear Blast.
