It’s always unpleasant to hear of feuds between bandmates in metal, a genre that has become so prominent with it’s ideals of community and unity. Sadly in 2013 Machine Head went through a rough break up with long-time bass player Adam Duce, leading to Duce taking legal action against the band.
On a more positive note it was announced today the lawsuit was settled out of court and that all formal charges have been dropped, with the terms of the agreement remaining confidential but both parties deeming it satisfactory.
Duce’s original charges were those of defamation in light of the public comments made against him on guitarist /vocalist Rob Flynn’s blog, and of a breach of ‘fudiciary duty’ to the bassist referring to the income of the tours Machine Head embarked on in 2012.
It’s a shame that matters such as these have to escalate to a legal plane, but at least the two parties have ended it before it spiraled out of control.
