Carnifex have just released a new video for “Hatred and Slaughter” off their new album Die Without Hope. Its nothing monumental in terms of the video, mostly just footage of the band performing live on their recent DevilDriver/Whitechapel tour and festival appearances with the song dubbed in. I have always been a little on the fence when it comes to Carnifex. They seem to be slowly getting out of the childish tendencies of deathcore as this album has begun to demonstrate, but there still seems to be that element of slowing things down for absolutely no reason at all, just to have a breakdown. Which a band like Carnifex doesn’t need and would benefit more in carving their own path, although it seems like the change is beginning albeit slowly with Die Without Hope showing some more mature forms of songwriting, much needed if they were to come back after the albums they had put out previously.
