In spite of all the Portnoy-related drama that has happened recently, the former Dream Theater drummer has decided to take the sticks for progressive rock outfit Bigelf.

Portnoy will play drums for the band on their European tour, but much to the discontent of UK fans he will not be playing the UK shows, most likely due to scheduling conflicts with his other projects.

Despite all the drama that surrounds him Mike Portnoy really is a drummer to watch, and watching him playing with Bigelf supporting such an acclaimed record (‘The Maelstrom‘, released last year) this would be a very entertaining show. See the Bigelf European tour dates below:
