After our previous post on Friday about the incredible, fantastically titled “The Blasphemous Psalm To The Dummy God Creation” Decapitated have formally announced the release of the song that was previewed on Daniel P Carter’s Radio 1 Rock Show last Tuesday. If you’re a fan of death metal of any sort then you will probably know of the polish death metal titans, if not, its time to. Having had a rocky history involving a tragic crash causing founding member and the Neil Peart of death metal Vitek passed away, as well as singer Covan who is now still in a long coma. Just to put it into perspective Vitek had recorded drum tracks for their debut Winds of Creation at the age of 15…
Having had to deal with the aftermath of the crash guitarist Vogg resolved to continue on with the band. Having released 2011’s Carnival Is Forever and gone through some more line up changes it seems that Decapitated have now found the perfect balance. The first song off their new album Blood Mantra is 2 minutes and 50 seconds of pure death metal fury, added in with a signature dissonant sounding Vogg solo. A fantastic example of things to come from this sure to be album of the year. Decapitated have not only made their mark in death metal itself but are constantly pushing the boundaries, creating new and forward thinking sounds and we can’t wait for the visionaries return.
Blood Mantra is out September 29th (UK) September 19th (EU) and September 30th (NA)
