Eighteen Visions Return

It’s no doubt that men now regretting wearing eye liner all over the globe have already heard, Eighteen Visions will return so here’s a crash course on their history and just why this is a big deal!

Formed back in 1995 Eighteen Visions were the beginnings of something special, that would also lead off into the creation of Brendan Schiepatti‘s now defunct venture Bleeding Through

Born and raised in Orange County, California, it seems that bands from round that way have a different ethos when it comes to life. The relaxed attitude of California is something that seemingly follows a band. Making it big in the scene at a time when we saw the rise of Avenged Sevenfold and the like, Eighteen Visions were huge players in the scene.

Originating with a Metalcore type sound the band were Trustkill Records, biggest seller for quite some time. Adapting their sound to a more Melodic Hardcore aesthetic in 2002 the band released Vanity, the final release to feature Brendan Schiepatti as he headed off for duties in Bleeding Through. Followed by Obsession which is where the band truly began to take off, supporting bands the likes of goth dudes HIM and Killswitch Engage to fly the Metalcore flag.

Arriving at 2007 the band had simply run out of steam somewhat. Leading to Eighteen Visions to be dropped from their Epic Label signing and during the days of MySpace announced their plans for a split following their self titled release. Fast forward now mysteriously, the band’s logo has begun to appear all over the place with members of the group uploading it onto Instagram with the caption “Time To Party” and Anaal Nathrakh’s own Mick Kenney on board to be producing record.

Who would have predicted that ten years later the band would be releasing a brand new record and embracing the world of music once again. Welcome back Eighteen Visions, it’s been a while!
