Before they wowed Knebworth as ever with their performance on Saturday headlining Sonisphere, Iron Maiden felt it pertinent to commemorate World War 1. In traditional grandiose style Bruce Dickinson piloted a Fokker DR1 replica. The team named The Great War Display Team flew over the skies for a 12 minute display. Iron Maiden have now invited us to see what it was like to be in the cockpit with Dickinson!
When asked about the First World War Dickinson commented ” What some of these fighter pilots achieved was nothing short of miraculous given the conditions they were working under and the seriousness of what was at stake.”
What a great way to honour them, I’m sure that if Maiden had been around at the time they would have had just as many fans! Check the video out here.
