Following on from their ripping first single “Brotherhood Of The Snake“, Testament break the silence again today with a new track titled “Stronghold“.
If you thought that the album’s title track was something to shout about then “Stronghold” will simply make the anticipation for the band’s brand new album that much more painful. Rooted in Thrash elements the track is a four minute ripper form start to finish, featuring earth quake conjuring vocals from Chuck Billy and razor sharp riffing keeping the rhythm section in check though for me personally it was the classic solo from Skolnick that just sets this band above the bar.
Changing key mid way through the record the man delivers yet another absolutely inspired, yet tasteful solo that will blow fans away. Far too consulted with wah-wah pedal shredding Skolnick’s style is somewhat of a rarity in Thrash but don’t just take my word for it! Listen to the track here.
Acting as the perfect soundtrack to Halloween, Testament’s brand new album Brotherhood Of The Snake is set for an October 28th release via Nuclear Blast.
