After the announcement of their next venture, Insomnium have now announced that they will be hitting up Europe in 2017 to deliver their forthcoming record live.

Made up of one song that spans a concept the band will be heading out on the road and performing the entire new album. A forty minute song that promises to be up there with the bands best material no doubt. Currently the support for the tour has not been announced either but we’re sure it will be soon.

Speaking of the tour Niilo Sevanen comments :

“The forthcoming Winter’s Gate album has been mixed by Dan Swanö and it sounds amazing. Playing this 40 minute monster song will be an interesting challenge in a live situation but we can’t wait to do this! This European tour in January will be a rare opportunity for our fans to hear the whole epic song live, so it will be a very special show every night.”

It will be interesting to see how it goes down, though forty minutes is long enough for people to be interested but short enough to keep people entertained leaving more than enough time for the bands older material as well.

The new record will be released September 23rd via Century Media.
