The first example of new music to come from Gojira has arrived. 

Unveiling a small teaser for the new song earlier this week, Gojira have at last shown their hand it is fascinating. Much of more of a mid tempo groove, I will be honest when I first heard I thought they had gone down the copying Metallica route that so many bands are doing nowadays. Set to release the new album June 17th you can preorder the record here! 

However I was happily proven wrong, despite the songs slower pace the new track is absolutely brilliant. Combining elements from the band’s past and a lot in their daring future “Stranded” builds upon the song writing aesthetic that the band have to form a rock solid foundation of groove and a chorus that is Herculean as we would all expect all the while retaining the eerie and very dark atmosphere. Not to mention though the drums might be simple owing to the infinite capacity of drummer Mario Duplantier they are never boring with intentional misssteps here and there. In a word it is brilliant. 

The band have also unveiled the track listing and album artwork to go with the release of the new song which all look fantastic put together and the esoteric essence is felt throughout the new work. Check it out!
