Just before the beginning of the weekend The Ghost Inside were involved in a bus crash that was truly frightening. As the weekend wore on the members condition’s changed, we have a summary of the story here.
On Thursday 19th of November The Ghost Inside were involved in a collision with another vehicle. Causing the band’s bus to be flipped over on the US 62/180, driver of the bus Gregory Hoke and driver of the semi Steve Cunningham tragically died in the fatal crash. On Friday the status of the members were in critical condition, since then the band have come to a more stable condition with bassist James Riley issuing a statement regarding the crash. Singer Jonathan Vigil, Zachary Johnson and Andrew Tkaczykt were also in the bus along with many other members of the crew. Currently they are in a stable condition.
“I’ve seen news reporting that some of the guys are in critical condition so I’d like to clarify a little bit. Tim and I were at the hospital last night and spoke extensively with each of the guys nurses. They are all in very stable condition and their families are arriving today to be with them. They still very much need your love and support.”
However there does seem to be a slight silver lining in this horrific story. Setting up a Gofundme account to aid the band with the no doubt extensive medical bills along with helping the families of the deceased the campaign was begun with many different bands adding their own contributions. Currently the raised total stands at 125,000$.
Whatever people’s opinion about the poster boys of Metal’s new era, Bring Me The Horizon donated a whopping 10,000$ to the band with many others following suit. Including contributions from Architects, say what you will about the band but for a group of guys to have that much integrity it doesn’t matter whether you like their music. It seems that hopefully the worst is over with for now.
Nevertheless we cannot forget that two men lost their lives whilst others might be lucky enough to escape alive. We wish their families all the best and extend our more sincere condolences. If you want to donate to the cause you can do so HERE at the Gofundme account.
